Erodium SI Fusion
- Incision is made 4 inches lateral to the iliac crest
- Followed by the placement of a trocar into the pelvis crossing the SI joint
- A guide wire is then placed, followed by a series of dilators
- Using a depth gauge, then the physician can measure the length of screw to be placed
- Once the screw length and diameter is determined, the physician can drill to the appropriate depth and place his screw
- This sequence is repeated for a 2nd and/or 3rd screw
